A striking piece of vintage English ironstone, this Adams Calyx Ware octagonal saucer showcases a captivating Chinoiserie design in rich cobalt blue and warm gold tones. A golden-brown bird takes flight among sweeping blue blossoms on gnarled brown branches, with blue iris and grass rising from the base — all rendered on a soft celadon ground. The wide border alternates bold cobalt blue herringbone/chevron panels with elegant gold-outlined white cartouches, each containing a blue lotus bloom and golden foliage, creating a dramatic and sophisticated frame.
