The Tonquin pattern showcases a romantic chinoiserie scene with a grand manor house, arched bridge, swans on the water, and lush exotic florals and trees, all rendered in rich cranberry red on a cream ground. The scalloped rim is adorned with a dense floral and foliate border with a beaded inner edge — a hallmark of the pattern's elegance.
