This charming souvenir mug from Vernon Kilns captures the breathtaking scenery of Emerald Bay on Lake Tahoe in rich red transferware — towering pines, rugged mountain terrain, and the shimmering lake rendered in fine detail around the entire body of the cup. The base carries a printed description of the scene: "Emerald Bay, one of the many scenic spots on Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe, which is world-renowned as a vacation center, is approximately 10 miles wide and 20 miles long, approximate distance around, 92 miles." A wonderful piece of mid-century California pottery history.
