A wonderful piece of American institutional history rendered in classic blue transferware. This Centennial Edition Limited plate was produced by Wedgwood, Etruria, England to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Egyptian Building at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia — 1838–1938. The center scene depicts the iconic Egyptian Revival-style building from an original sketch by Dugald Stewart Walker, surrounded by a detailed diamond-lattice border with decorative medallions.
